Dr. Nadi Towfigh’s extensive scientific work in the international arena on cross-cultural psychology, as well as her practical intercultural experience, uniquely qualifies her for her long standing engagement with refugees and their helpers.
Dr. Towfigh provides psychological and educational counselling for families and especially for women refugees. She also facilitates regular discussion groups and empowerment programmes for women, as well as for youth and children. The language of communication is English, German, or Farsi. When needed, an interpreter may also be engaged.
In addition, Dr. Towfigh offers supervision for people who are working with refugees either as volunteers or employees. Her focus on the one hand is to strengthen intercultural competences, and on the other hand to protect the volunteers from resignation caused by overload and burnout.
